A Florida man was recently arrested and is now fighting charges of several counts of possession of weapons as well as illegal narcotics sales. The 32-year-old man was apprehended after a two-month investigation, the Lee County Sheriff's Office says. When Florida residents such as this man are arrested and accused of selling drugs, they typically choose to consult an experienced criminal defense attorney as they fight to prove their innocence.
The man allegedly conducted drug transactions involving narcotics including heroin and cocaine, officials claim. An undercover narcotics detective was involved in several of these transactions. According to a report, the detective purchased over two ounces of cocaine as well as around 13 grams of heroin.
Authorities issued a search warrant for his home in early December. When they arrived, he was apparently found inside the residence with an assemblage of firearms as well as what police say were thousands of rounds of various types of ammunition; in addition, the man had several amounts of varying narcotics. A bond of $1.5 million was set.
The accused individual is entitled to a criminal defense, which includes the right to legal representation by a lawyer who will represent his interests and defend his presumed innocence during the pending legal proceedings in a Florida criminal court. Although charges for selling drugs typically come with severe penalties, the accused is innocent in the eyes of the law until he is convicted of the charges and proved guilty. An experienced criminal defense attorney can help him begin the process of building a strong defense.
