Woman fighting accusations of selling drugs

A Cocoa woman was recently taken into custody on a recent Tuesday evening in December after she reportedly sold drugs. Police have accused the woman of selling cocaine. When Florida residents are accused of crimes such as selling drugs, they typically consult an experienced criminal defense attorney who is familiar with defending against charges of this nature.

The Brevard County Sheriff's Office began an investigation into narcotics sales from a residence in Cocoa beginning in Aug. 2015. During this investigation, an informant told an officer that he/she was able to purchase cocaine from the residence where the female suspect lived. On Aug. 20, the same informant purchased cocaine at the same residence from the female suspect.

The alleged $40 transaction that occurred was for less than one gram of crack cocaine. While the transaction occurred, the police, who were stationed outside in a van, were able to listen in on an electronic monitoring device. The female suspect, a 49-year-old woman, was summarily arrested. She is currently facing a slew of drug-related charges, including drug sales and drug possession.

The woman is currently being held in jail on a $35,000 bail. If the woman is convicted of these charges, she could potentially face stiff fines, penalties and even jail time. However, it is essential to remember that when an individual is arrested, that is merely a formal accusation, and a person's guilt or innocence can only be determined in a Florida criminal court. To help defend themselves, individuals facing charges like selling drugs typically choose to enlist the help of an experienced criminal defense attorney.
