Having medical marijuana could lead to drug possession charge

A local airport has banned medical marijuana on its premises, despite the fact that it is legal in the state. Those patients who use the drug for medical reasons should be aware when traveling through the Orlando International Airport in Florida. It is now illegal for anyone to carry the drug into the airport, and doing so could land them with a drug possession charge.

Florida approves mandatory minimums on fentanyl drug possession

A bill was recently signed into law in Florida which establishes mandatory minimums for those caught with the drug known as fentanyl. Governor Rick Scott signed the drug possession measure, which was written with the intention of cracking down on the dealers who are selling the drug or any of its derivatives. Because fetanyl is such a dangerous drug, the hope is that stricter sentencing guidelines will help eradicate its use across the state.

Florida man flashing money online arrested for drug possession

A man has been arrested after flashing money on camera for Facebook Live. According to reports, the man was showing off a handful of money when officers interrupted with a loudspeaker, raiding his home. Several people were said to have sent the live video to a local news station in Jacksonville, Florida. The man was arrested for drug possession and other charges.

26 arrested for drug trafficking, police searching for 10 more

After a recent drug sting, 26 people have been arrested on various charges and 10 more are at large. Reports from the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office share that the suspects were taken during Operation Shady Lane, a multi-agency effort to catch those involved in drug trafficking in Florida. As many as 36 warrants were issued for the operation.

Nurse accused of prescription drug possession

A nurse has been accused of selling prescription medicines. The woman was arrested and charged with prescription drug possession, selling or distributing opium, dispensing drugs without a prescription, and possessing drug paraphernalia. She worked in the intensive care ward of JFK Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida.
